兔舍建筑的類型，一般有封閉式、半開放式或開放式、棚式三種。常見的兔舍建造按其屋頂?shù)男问剑譃槠狡率健㈦p坡式、平頂式、拱式、鐘樓式和半鐘樓式兔舍。此外，按舍內(nèi)兔籠的排列方式，又分為單列、雙列式和多列式兔舍。

1、單列式兔舍單列式兔舍通風和光照較好，操作方便，舍內(nèi)環(huán)境污染少，但單位造價較高，占地面積大。

2、雙列式兔舍兔舍內(nèi)縱向布置兩列兔籠，籠門有面對面和背靠背兩種。兔籠重疊3層。面對面的兔籠在兔籠后各設(shè)一條0.7米寬的糞尿清掃溝，中間設(shè)1.2～1.5米寬走道。背靠背的兩列兔籠之間設(shè)一條1.0米寬的糞尿溝，兩外側(cè)設(shè)1.2米寬的過道。面對面雙列式兔舍的兔籠后背可作舍籠后墻，而兔舍通風好，光照充足，夏季涼爽，冬季保暖，籠位單位成本低于單列式，是目前較理想的一種兔舍。

3、多列式兔舍兔舍內(nèi)兔籠排列有3列或4列。這種兔舍地面利用率高，保溫性能好。但此種兔舍通風和透光不夠理想，舍內(nèi)空氣污染較重，不利于種兔繁殖和疫病防治。

兔舍墻體用磚砌成，內(nèi)墻刷白色或淺色，屋頂坡度可采用人字形屋架，下緣高度不低于 2.5米，門的寬度1.2～1.5米，高度為2米，窗戶按采光系數(shù)1∶10計算，可做成寬×高=1.5米×1.5米的玻璃窗，玻璃窗安置離地面70～75厘米。地面有一定的傾斜度，糞溝做成月弧形，斜度為1.0%～1.5%。
