　　1999年，已在當地養兔行業小有成就的他進一步擴大養殖場的規模，從老家搬到了蒙陰縣城，長毛兔規模已從初的20只發展到上千只。有了一定的資金積累，公為迎雇了一批工人養兔，他則把精力放在養兔的“發明創造”上。他研制的電動摟毛器，與吊掛式剪毛法相結合，解決了長毛兔剪毛費工費時等難題，2014年獲實用新型和外觀設計兩項。他結合庭院客觀條件發明的“寶塔兔籠”，具有占地面積小、自助喂料、節約用工等優點，2016年獲外觀設計。

The electric hair clipper he developed, combined with the hanging shearing method, solved the problems of time-consuming and labor-intensive shearing for long haired rabbits. In 2014, it obtained two national utility model and design patents. He invented the "Baota Rabbit Cage" based on the objective conditions of the courtyard, which has the advantages of small footprint, self-service feeding, and labor saving. It obtained a national design patent in 2016.

　　2012年后，在長毛兔市場普遍追求高產、兔毛粗直壯的大背景下，他另辟蹊徑，花七八年時間，選育出絨毛性長毛兔。所產兔絨細密纖長，被稱為“纖維中的軟黃金”，先后推廣到河北、山西、遼寧等地。近年來，兔毛行情低迷，他積極探索，又選育出“觀賞產絨多用兔”，帶動蒙陰當地養殖戶共同致富。
